Dropbox Announces Leadership Changes
Dropbox has appointed Ashraf Alkarmi as Co-Chief Executive Officer and board member. Andrew Houston will transition to Executive Chairman after a transition period. Michael Torres will become Chief Product Officer effective July 7, 2026.
Appointment Details
Ashraf Alkarmi joined Dropbox in November 2024 as General Manager of Core. Previously, he served as Chief Product Officer at Vimeo and held senior product roles at Amazon and Meta. He holds an MA in Management and Operations from Harvard.
Michael Torres brings over a decade of executive product leadership, including roles as VP of Product for Chrome at Alphabet and VP & GM for Kindle at Amazon. He holds a BA in Psychology with a concentration in Computer Science from Cornell University.
Transition Plan
Andrew Houston will continue as Co-CEO during the transition period before moving to Executive Chairman. These changes aim to position the company for its next chapter, with a focus on AI and product innovation.
