Hyperfine Shares Jump on Russell Indices Addition
Hyperfine to Join Russell 3000 and Russell 2000 Indices
Health technology company Hyperfine saw its shares jump after announcing it would be added to the Russell 3000 and Russell 2000 indices. The stock rose 9.7% to $1.64 on Tuesday, bringing its year-to-date gain to 67%.
The company said before the opening bell that it is expected to join the broad-market Russell 3000 and the small-cap Russell 2000 at the end of next month's rebalancing of the indices.
Many exchange-traded funds and mutual funds track the Russell 3000 and Russell 2000, meaning Hyperfine's addition would create a wave of automatic buying into those shares from fund investors.
