This week, key developments in Latin America include Brazil's GDP, Chile's industrial production, and Colombia's presidential election. Here are the highlights:

Friday, May 29

Brazil will release Q1 GDP data, with expectations of +0.1% quarter-over-quarter and +1.8% year-over-year. Chile will report industrial production and retail sales figures. Industrial output is expected to contract 3.4% year-over-year. Chile's unemployment rate and Colombia's jobless data are also due.

Colombia holds its presidential election, a key political event for markets.

Monday, June 1

Chile publishes the IMACEC economic activity index, expected to decline 0.1% year-over-year. Brazil's manufacturing PMI is forecast at 52.6.
