Taiwan Stocks Rally 3.3% as Semiconductor Shares Surge

Taiwan's Taiex index closed 3.3% higher at 43,644.40 on Wednesday, buoyed by strong gains in semiconductor-related stocks. Nvidia's robust earnings report last week further lifted market sentiment, driving up shares across its supply chain.

Institutional Buying and Analyst Commentary

Goldman Sachs analysts noted that "both domestic and foreign institutional buying amid continued earnings upgrades" have been key factors supporting the Taiwanese market.

Key Stock Movers

The world's largest contract chipmaker TSMC rose 2.4%, while Foxconn Technology added 4.4%. MediaTek surged 10%, and Delta Electronics, specializing in data-center power management, jumped 9.3%.

Meanwhile, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang arrived in Taipei over the weekend ahead of Nvidia GTC and Computex 2026 events.
