US Crude, Fuel Inventories Fell Last Week: EIA

The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported on Thursday that crude, gasoline, and distillate stockpiles declined in the week ending May 22. Crude inventories fell by 3.3 million barrels to 441.7 million barrels, slightly below analysts' expectations of a 4.14 million-barrel draw.

Refinery Operations and Stock Changes

Refinery crude runs increased by 652,000 barrels per day, while refinery utilization rates dropped by 2.9 percentage points to 94.5%. Crude stocks at the Cushing, Oklahoma, delivery hub decreased by 2.79 million barrels.

Gasoline stocks fell by 2.6 million barrels to 211.6 million barrels, and distillate stockpiles, including diesel and heating oil, declined by 2.1 million barrels to 100.8 million barrels. Net U.S. crude imports fell by 128,000 barrels per day.
